Dr. Ted van Essen is a former General Practitioner from the Netherlands who practiced for over 30 years. Since 2018, he is chair of the Dutch Influenza Foundation. Furthermore, he regularly shares his expertise in television appearances, including in talk shows and as "Dokter Ted" on the Omroep Max in the Netherlands.
